Meet our Principal, Ms. Lansford
Dear Jordan Hills Community,
I am thrilled to introduce myself as the principal of Jordan Hills Elementary School. My name is Baylee Lansford, and I have had the privilege of serving the Jordan district for the past 18 years. Over the years, I have worn many hats, including teaching 1st grade, working as an instructional coach, and most recently, serving as an Assistant Principal.
I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, but went to college at BYU-Idaho and BYU in Provo. I am deeply committed to the students, teachers, staff, and parents at Jordan Hills, and I am excited about the learning and growth we will experience together this year.
This year, we will focus on three key principles inspired by our motto: "Bear Cubs are Brave, Kind, and a Team." These values will guide us in fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
- Brave: Encouraging our students to take risks, embrace challenges, and grow from their experiences.
- Kind: Promoting a culture of empathy, respect, and kindness towards one another.
- A Team: Building a strong sense of community where everyone works together to achieve common goals.
I am looking forward to an incredible year ahead. Thank you for your continued support and dedication to making Jordan Hills Elementary a wonderful place for our children to learn and grow.
Meet our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Vea
Hi there, Jordan Hills Bear Cubs!
My name is Thyme Meleisea-Vea. The students call me Mrs. Vea. I am the Assistant Principal here at Jordan Hills Elementary. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about this special place! I want to tell you a little about myself.
I was born and raised in Hawaiʻi on the island of Oʻahu. I moved to Utah in 2012 when I began pursuing my lifelong dream of being an educator and attended Brigham Young University. This will be my third year as an administrator. I spent my first two years as an Assistant Principal at Oak Leaf Elementary in Herriman. Prior to being an administrator, I was a classroom teacher for seven years. I taught second and fourth grade. The students are, hands down, my absolute favorite part of the job!! I love working with them in any way I can! It is so fun to get to know them all! My goal as an educator is to create and support a positive learning environment for all students, so that they can flourish.
On a more personal note, you may have noticed my first name is a bit unusual. I am actually named after the song Scarborough Fair by Simon & Garfunkel. You might have heard of it! And, fun fact, I also have a sister named Saige. Our whole lives people have called us "the spice girls!" My husband and I have two daughters. Emily is 2 years old, and Florence is 4 months old. During my free time, I enjoy baking yummy treats, going on picnics, spending time with my family, and visiting home in Hawaii.
I already know that I am lucky to be a part of the Jordan Hills community. I am excited to get to know and work with you all this school year. Go Bear Cubs!
